Pentagon VS.  CNN: An inside outing?

Pentagon VS.  CNN: An inside outing?

Afrasianet - Subhi Hadidi - U.S. President Donald Trump insists on keeping the current U.S. war against Iran, which is continuing in full partnership with the Israeli occupation state, under the name of "foreign picnic."

This is not only because of the misery of his use of vocabulary in particular, or a terrible insertion into his lexicon in general, but also, perhaps fundamentally, as part of his series of verbal attempts to cover up the scandalous paths taken by that war, which he takes successively about two weeks after it broke out, and the appalling inability to find an outlet for the famous "exit policy" of the planners It is more likely that he deliberately repeated this picnic tale to Republican members of Congress in Florida and then during a business meeting in Ohio, as if he wanted to emphasize that the duty to take the war lightly rests with the representatives of these two segments: the legislative power that is dependent on his will, and the economy of manufacturing and trafficking in arms and the accumulation of billions of dollars.

It has not been lost to many that Trump may have fallen into a lexical and verbal confusion between the meaning  of excursion and the meaning  of incursion, which is usually carried out on the tongues of the military.

Regardless of the semantic ambiguity, it is clear that the White House is preoccupied with a series of outings/incursions in the context of the war itself, including a model whose details were revealed by Secretary of War Pete Higgseth, not against Iran this time, but at "lacking" American media, led by CNN None other than that, and then he shunned the photojournalists whose photographs do not reflect the bright and triumphant aspects of the Pentagon's activities during press conferences (there is no way to cover the current war through American lenses).

Because the US president does not hide his hatred of the network, because it does not follow his whims in all his policies, serious reports have spoken of Trump personally pressuring Netflix to withdraw its offer to buy CNN, paving the way for the Ellisons to win the deal, despite scandalous procedural circumstances and protests by judges and lawmakers regarding the legality of the offer and demand.

It is no secret that the White House does not intend this outing/storm to control networks and film companies of the caliber of CNN and HBO And others, only but taming, if one does not go to the extreme: subjugating the other opinion, opposing or disagreeing or adhering to the minimum limits of professional credibility.

That's what Mark Schweif, president of the National Press Club, fears, who argues that the Pentagon's war against non-mainstream media "runs counter to basic principles of transparency and a democratic society," and that "when the government decides which images the public is allowed to see, transparency is replaced by censorship.

This assumes that accountability can actually be conducted through the American media, under the creeping bulldozer led by the billionaire Ellison family in which they take over the news networks, or under the control of a Congress whose majority has voted to give Trump a mandate to continue the war without consulting the legislature, or to the constitutional requirements that restrict the powers of the U.S. president to declare or fight war.

There is always the possibility that the Trump administration's outings and incursions will not be repeated here and there, or will not go further, for example, to Cuba, after Iran, and in any sovereign capital after Caracas!
