In the contradictions of American policy.. Trump: If it wasn't for America, Israel wouldn't exist.. And if it wasn't for me it would have wiped it off the ground
Afrasianet - As U.S. President Trump attacks Netanyahu and Israeli politics, the U.S. ambassador's position to Israel stands out in a different and ridiculous way, both of which are horribly disgusting.
US President Donald Trump stressed during a press conference with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani on Tuesday on the sidelines of the G7 summit in France that without the United States, Israel would not exist.
U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his displeasure with the Israeli prime minister, saying Benjamin Netanyahu should be "more responsible to Lebanon" amid fears that renewed fighting with Hezbollah could derail the U.S.-Iran peace deal.
"I am not satisfied with the way Israel has dealt with Lebanon and Hezbollah. They should have done the job faster."
"It never ends. When that happens, it casts a negative shadow on the grand deal, the agreement with Iran."
Trump said he had an "incredible relationship" with Netanyahu, but stressed that "Israel would have been wiped off the face of the earth a long time ago if I hadn't intervened."
Since fighting between Israel and Hezbollah resumed in March early in the Iranian war, at least 3,783 people have been killed in Lebanon and 11,699 wounded, according to Lebanon's Health Ministry.
But speaking alongside Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio at the summit, Trump said he considered the war "simple."
Trump said: "I consider this a small war. Iran is the big war, but we have that little point that keeps coming up, which is Hezbollah."
Trump then stated that Syria, led by President Ahmed al-Shara, would be better suited to deal with Hezbollah, noting that he suggested that Israel should let Syria take over Hezbollah because Damascus would do a better job than Tel Aviv.
The public rebuke from the US president came after Netanyahu ruled out an immediate withdrawal from Lebanon during a televised speech on Monday evening.
Netanyahu said they had established high-security zones around "Israel, and that this had been done in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
"We will remain in the security zones for as long as necessary to defend our country," he vowed.
Some Israeli officials have reacted negatively to the U.S.-Iran deal, asserting that "Israel is not subject to the United States."
Trump has clashed with Netanyahu several times in recent months, believing that the Israeli prime minister and his government are obstructing U.S. efforts to reach a deal with Iran by attacking Hezbollah in Lebanon.
Ambassador Huckabee: Without Israel, there will be no America
On the other hand, the US ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, spoke on the same Tuesday about the relationship between Jewish history and American identity at the opening of the International Conference on Israeli Heritage in the West Bank.
U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee emphasized the importance of Israel and Jewish heritage to the United States.
Huckabee said his role is not only to represent the United States in Israel, but also to represent Israel's importance to Americans.
The ambassador added to the audience: "It is undoubtedly your heritage. It's also a U.S. heritage. Without Israel and without the Jewish foundation, there will be no America."
"The historical and spiritual roots of the Jewish people helped shape the values and foundations of the United States. We owe our existence to what happened on this land."
Huckabee noted that Americans should recognize the importance of Israel's history and its impact on Western civilization.
Huckabee's comments came hours after US President Donald Trump addressed the issue of US intervention in Iran, saying that without his intervention, Israel would not have existed, with Trump saying: "Without the United States, without me, there would be no Israel."
