Afrasianet - U.S. journalist Tucker Carlson has announced that he will not return to support the Republican Party in any upcoming elections, in sharp remarks he made during his recent appearance on the "Uncensored" podcast.
"The poll numbers now tell a very clear story about that, and I wouldn't support the Republican Party, and there's no chance of that," Carlson said on the podcast.
Carlson: Iran has caused the end of the American empire
He explained that his new position does not necessarily mean that he will switch to support the Democratic Party, adding, "Not because I support the Democratic Party, but because I don't know what I am going to do anymore."
Carlson questioned how any American could support a political party that is "not loyal to the United States," arguing that "it is not possible to vote for people like these."
"I've voted for the Republican Party my whole life, I've worked for Fox News, and I've been a steadfast advocate for it for 35 years, but there's no defense of this situation because it's immoral."
Carlson, who was considered a staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, broke with the president after the administration began its military campaign against Iran and its proxies earlier this year. The former anchor accused the Trump administration of being influenced by Israel to start the war, and repeated his criticism of the president for continuing the conflict.
Carlson concluded his remarks by insisting that he would not support or vote for Republicans in the next election, saying, "So, no, I'm done. If I'm done, I think a lot of other people are done too."
Carlson said on his YouTube channel: "The neoconservative lobby supports the conflict in Ukraine... The conflict has prolonged the conflict at the expense of American, and now European, taxpayers, to the point where a large number of Ukrainian men have been killed. So, Ukraine as a nation, that nation that existed five years ago will be gone. It's over."
He noted that these population losses will be exacerbated by the West's plundering of agricultural land in Ukraine, something that Volodymyr Zelensky has effectively legitimized.
