Leather that does not steal.. Inspired by the legend of the seal woman (The Selkie)

Leather that does not steal.. Inspired by the legend of the seal woman (The Selkie)

Afrasianet - Mohamed Al Hawari - "They say that the most valuable things in a human being... You can't steal, unless he allows it."

They say that seals are not always seals.

On certain nights, they come out of the sea, take off their skins, and become human beings just like us. They laugh, dance, and live for a moment of another life, before returning to the sea at dawn.

One of the oldest Scottish legends says that a man saw one of these women and hid her skin so that she could not return to the sea. She had no choice but to stay with him, so he married her, had children with him, and lived for many years as people live.

But she never stopped looking for her skin.

When she finally found it, she put it on without hesitation, and returned to the sea. She left behind a home, a husband, and even the children she loved.

It may be just a myth, but it carries a truth that everyone knows.

You can provide a person with a home, a job, security, and even a family... But you can't give him a sense of belonging if his heart belongs somewhere else.

Man does not live by stability alone, but by freedom. Freedom is not for someone to open the door for you, but not to close it in your face from the beginning.

How many people smile every day as they search within themselves for their lost "skin"?

It could be a dream they postponed or a homeland they left, a message they forgot in the hustle and bustle of life, or even a passion they buried because others didn't understand it.

That's why the legend of The Selkie  is alive today.

Not because she is talking about a woman who has been transformed from a seal into a human, but because she is talking about something much deeper: about a soul that cannot be possessed, about freedom that may be delayed, but does not forget the way back.

Perhaps the most beautiful thing this myth teaches us is that true love does not mean keeping your loved one by your side at all costs, but giving them the freedom to choose to stay.

Who will return to you of his own will? He never left.

And who stays because he has no other way? It didn't reach you at all.
