Afrasianet - In a testimony documenting the most horrific scenes of systematic brutality in modern times, British surgeon Nick Maynard, a professor at the University of Oxford, revealed shocking details about what he witnessed during his volunteer work in hospitals in the Gaza Strip.
In a lengthy interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, Maynard spoke about a deliberate policy of targeting hungry children and medical staff, amid silence and collusion by Western governments and media institutions.
Carlson began his episode by making a historical comparison between the genocide in Rwanda in 1994 and what is happening in the Gaza Strip, and highlighted the double standards of political figures such as Samantha Power, who built her professional glory by writing books denouncing the genocide, and today stands in silence under the administration of President Joe Biden while the most heinous crimes are committed with direct American support.
Carlson stressed that in the eyes of the current system, the real criminal is the one who objects to the financing of these crimes, not the one who commits them or calls for the burial of civilians alive under the rubble.
"At some point, all Holocaust museums will have to include an exhibition about what's happening in Gaza right now," he said in a tweet after the episode aired. It's just a matter of time."
Shooting Game in Hunger Queues
In his testimony, which is a shock to the human conscience, Dr. Maynard recounted the details of the transformation of food distribution points into death traps for hungry civilians, and quoted doctors in emergency departments who observed a pattern of targeting specific parts of the bodies of boys and children on different days in what appeared to be a shooting training field.
He explained that on one day, the medical teams received 19 boys with gunshot wounds to the head and neck exclusively, while another day witnessed the arrival of boys with gunshot wounds that targeted the chest or abdomen, in addition to the day before he left Nasser Hospital, when the hospital received 4 children whose genitals were directly shot by the snipers.
The British surgeon pointed out that these crimes took place in the distribution centers of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, run by Jonny Moore, who appeared on television to boast of rescuing the population, at a time when Israeli forces surrounded the hungry and shot at them as soon as the narrow gates for food were opened.
Torture and rape of medical staff
Maynard revealed that a young plastic surgeon from his friends was executed with his mother after handcuffing them and shooting them in the head, and he talked about the kidnapping of large numbers of doctors and taking them to Israeli prisons where they were subjected to the most horrific types of torture.
He confirmed the documentation of the case of a prominent orthopedic surgeon who was repeatedly raped over two weeks until he died under torture without handing over his body to his family.
The surgeon quoted detailed testimonies from colleagues who survived arrest, documenting that they had been subjected to electric shocks to their genitals, psychological and physical torture, and forced to remain blindfolded and handcuffed in a sitting or kneeling position for up to two months without any formal charges.
Dog bombs and deadly drones
In a development that exemplifies the use of technology in the commission of war crimes, Maynard described the Israeli army's use of live dogs and training them to enter hospitals after they were equipped with cameras and guns mounted on their backs controlled by soldiers from long distances to shoot at doctors and patients, according to a detailed testimony he received from a colleague who witnessed these operations on multiple occasions.
The surgeon also touched on the use of quadrupeds equipped with weapons and cameras, and recalled a horrific incident in which a drone penetrated an operating room at Nasser Hospital, where a colleague was shot in the chest while he was preparing for urgent surgery.
Maynard recalled his surgical intervention to save the life of a three-month-old pregnant woman who was hit by a drone bullet that almost penetrated her uterus, and survived with her fetus thanks to medical attention.
Political and media collusion
Maynard concluded his speech by expressing his deep anger at media and political collusion in his homeland, and criticized the BBC's biased coverage, citing the incident of hosting a fellow doctor from Gaza, followed by an interview with an Israeli spokesman who falsely described the doctor as a military commander in Hamas.
When Maynard contacted the channel to give the doctor the right to respond, his request was rejected on the grounds of maintaining an imaginary balance of giving each party 7 minutes of time, and he pointed to the attempts of honest journalists within the channel to publish the truth, but they were prevented by the top management, prompting some of them to submit their resignations.
On the political front, he expressed deep regret over the continued political cover and weapons by Western governments, especially the British government, explaining that his country continues to provide spare parts for F-35 fighter jets and carry out daily reconnaissance flights from its bases in Cyprus to provide intelligence support to the Israeli war machine.
He denounced attempts to demonize any free voice that seeks to expose the truth about this genocide through the weapon of the accusation of anti-Semitism, a weapon aimed at intimidating dissidents and threatening their professional futures in order to silence witnesses and obscure the truth.
