An American journalist asks Graham: Do we represent the state of Carolina or Israel?

Afrasianet - South Carolina journalist Jack Hunter lashed out at Senator Lindsey Graham, questioning why he focused on the foreign policy of Israel and Iran at the expense of representing his constituents in his state.

The writer, who identified himself as a Charleston native, said: "Lindsey Graham has represented my state in Congress since 1995. That is, 31 years, eight of them as a member of the House of Representatives and 23 years as a senator."

Graham's statement to reporters in Tel Aviv: "I'm Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. I came back again. I come here every two weeks whether I need it or not."

The writer asked sarcastically: "Really? How about visiting Charleston, Columbia, or somewhere in the Palmetto State with such frequency?".

Graham's stance beating the drums of war, noting that "South Carolina is more than 50 percent more than its share of new military recruits."

Graham was quoted as saying, "Can our soldiers be targeted in the region? Certainly possible. Can Iran respond if we launch an all-out attack? Absolutely yes. I think the risks associated with that are much less than hesitation."

The writer commented: "Note: 'Risk' here means the lives of U.S. military personnel. Graham is ready to make that sacrifice for Israel."

"Graham cares more about Israel, its agenda and the wishes of its president, Benjamin Netanyahu, than he cares about the actual lives of service members in his country and their state," he added. "This is the same Graham who wanted to lower the age of conscription in Ukraine to send more bodies as fuel to the war of attrition."

"Isn't it strange that a U.S. senator visits a foreign country every two weeks? At least for this South Carolina native. I imagine I'm not alone in wondering."

It is noteworthy that Lindsey Graham is one of the most prominent supporters of Israeli policies in the US Senate, and has previously called for tighter sanctions on Palestinian resistance factions, Hezbollah and Iran.

During a meeting with Netanyahu. Israel's "Great Friend" incites Palestinian resistance factions and Hezbollah

On the other hand, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held talks in his office in Jerusalem with US Senator Lindsey Graham, in a meeting that witnessed incitement against the Palestinian resistance factions and Hezbollah.

During the meeting, Netanyahu said Graham is a "great friend of Israel" and a personal friend, stressing that he is one of Tel Aviv's most prominent supporters in the US Congress.

For his part, the Republican senator expressed grave concern over developments on the ground, claiming that "Hamas is not disarming, but rearming," warning that the group seeks to consolidate its control over the Gaza Strip rather than abandon it.

Graham claimed that Hezbollah was "trying to produce more weapons," calling these developments an "unacceptable outcome."
