Afrasianet - The Washington Post reported that dozens of US National Security Agency officials responsible for the Ukraine file have been suspended.

"They have been sent home. They will only be able to return if they are summoned by authorities appointed by President Donald Trump."

The White House said it was a check to make sure they were complying with Trump's new policies.

The suspension was so abrupt that some employees were unable to leave the White House compound, and their permits were revoked while working.

This came after information reported by the newspaper, that the Pentagon expelled everyone who was previously in charge of Ukraine.

"Anyone in charge of Ukraine has been dismissed or suspended. It's a complete reboot."

The newspaper also noted earlier that House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) decided to remove Representative Michael R. Turner (R-Ohio) from his position as chairman of the House Intelligence Select Standing Committee.

The change in the leadership of the strong, closely monitored committee is the latest evidence of a potential shift in how Republicans handle Ukraine during Donald Trump's second term in office and Republican majorities in both the House and Senate.

Ahead of his inauguration, Trump reiterated his intention to end the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and prevent World War III.

US President Donald Trump said it was time to conclude a deal to end the Ukrainian war, adding in remarks posted on his social platform that he does not seek to harm Russia, that he loves the Russian people, and that his relationship with President Vladimir Putin has always been positive, despite what he called the "radical left trick" that promoted anti-Russianism.

He added in a previous statement that he gave his special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, a hundred days to resolve the crisis.. threatening to impose additional sanctions on Russia if an agreement fails.

A few days ago, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov stated that Moscow is ready to listen to Washington's proposals on possible contacts between Putin and Trump and respond to them constructively. What are Trump's cards to end the Ukrainian crisis and provide a solution that satisfies all parties? Is it worthwhile to impose sanctions on Russia after all previous sanctions have failed?
