Gaza's "Humanitarian City": What is the purpose of its establishment?

Afrasianet - Zahir Saleh - As pressure mounts to bring more aid into Gaza, Palestinians in the Strip are waking up to a new nightmare misleading the "humanitarian city."

Since Katz's announcement of his plan, its nature and the Israeli goal of it have become clear, as those who enter this city will not leave it to the Strip, but outside its borders, which means direct deportation and suffocation of what remains of the Palestinian presence in the Gaza Strip, as part of a systematic strategy aimed at silent liquidation.

The plan signals a flagrant violation of international law, as the forcible transfer of an occupied territory is a war crime and ethnic cleansing according to UN charters, however, Katz, driven by the obsession with the "final solution", does not seem to intend to back down.

In this context, the website "Counter Punch" revealed a shocking report highlighting an "Israeli" plan described as the "most brazen" in the course of modern genocide, which provides for the establishment of a so-called "humanitarian city" in the southern Gaza Strip, but behind this deceptive name, lies the terrifying intentions of forcibly deporting hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to a disguised detention camp, not aimed at survival, but at paving the way for mass ethnic cleansing.

The report, based on Haaretz, reported that the Israeli entity's Minister of War, Katz, proposes to displace about 600,000 Palestinians to a walled area built on the ruins of the city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, which is classified as "humanitarian."

But the plan includes screening Gazans, separating suspected Hamas suspects, paving the way for forcibly deporting civilians out of the Strip, seizing areas, demilitarizing the Gaza Strip, and implementing Donald Trump's Haggar plan.

According to Katz, Netanyahu is also leading attempts to search for countries that accommodate Gazans, however, an Israeli source revealed that the political, judicial and economic repercussions of the plan make its implementation difficult, in the opinion of more than one official familiar with it.

The same source explained that the decision-makers of this plan realized that its main difficulty lies in the unwillingness of any of the countries to which Israel went to absorb a population from Gaza.

Counter Punch warns that the goal is not to resettle the population, but to completely erase their presence from the Palestinian geography, which represents a direct extension of Zionist ideology that has long dreamed of full control over Gaza without Palestinians.

The plan points to a flagrant violation of international law, the forcible transfer of the population of an occupied territory is a war crime and ethnic cleansing according to UN charters, however, Katz, driven by the obsession with the "final solution", does not seem to intend to back down, but rather announced the start of construction during the expected ceasefire, in reference to a frantic acceleration to impose a new reality before any possible settlement.

In the Arab world, the situation is even more tragic: regimes are moving toward normalization and dealmaking, while Palestinians are left prey to hunger, death and displacement. Where are the red lines that official capitals have long waved?

The report directly accuses the international community, which has not only remained silent but has actively participated in the 20-month-old massacre through military support and diplomatic cover. More than 55,000 Palestinian martyrs, mostly women and children, have fallen under Israeli bombardment that has targeted hospitals, bakeries, mosques, schools and refugee camps.

The occupation did not only destroy, but also used starvation as a weapon, preventing the arrival of aid, attacking relief convoys, and establishing aid distribution points that quickly turned into deadly ambushes, and to complement this gloomy picture, the "Gaza Humanitarian Foundation" was established with American support, aiming to turn relief into a tool for pressure and control, away from the supervision of the United Nations and independent organizations, and the report asks bitterly: How can a government built on the ruins of the Holocaust establish today a mass detention camp?

How does Washington continue to provide it with weapons, prevent accountability at the UN, and punish anyone who dares to tell the truth, such as UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese?

If the Arab and Islamic nation and the world do not rise now, they will not be just spectators of genocide, but rather partners in it, there is no time for hesitation, no place for neutrality.

Despite the bleak picture, the report illuminates a glimmer of hope at the Hague Group's emergency meeting on July 15-16 in Colombia. The aim of this meeting was to support South Africa's case against Israel before the International Court of Justice for genocide.

The website calls on all countries that claim to be committed to justice to immediately join this lawsuit and exert real pressure to stop the disastrous occupation scheme.

The site also calls on members of the US Congress to declare a clear and immediate position, stop the double rhetoric and funding of bombs that demolish schools on the heads of children and women, and stop being silent about committing the most heinous massacres in full view of the world.
