Afrasianet - Mazen Al , Najjar - What is the importance of the Zionist entity to America? Is the relationship between the United States and Israel organic or functional? What U.S. strategic interests does this relationship target or achieve?
The issue of the US-Israeli relationship has received considerable attention in Arab thought and social circles, in terms of diagnosis, history, analysis, reasoning and dimensions. This is a well-deserved attention in light of the close link between this relationship and the question of Palestine and the Zionist settler-settlement and expansionist project in Palestine and the Arab Mashreq as a whole.
Thinkers and researchers have tried to determine the dimensions, motives, scope and purpose of this relationship by asking a number of fundamental questions: What is the importance of the Zionist entity to America? Is the relationship between the United States and Israel organic or functional? What are the U.S. strategic interests targeted or achieved by this relationship? What is the scope of the Zionist project and the limits of its expansion in the American perception? What are the repercussions of this relationship on the role of the United States, its relations with the countries and peoples of the region, its future, and the prospects for its advancement, independence and unity?
Steady aggressive vision
The deeper the research in this direction, the more the vision of America and the imperialist West for the Arab Mashreq and the Islamic world will unfold, especially after the independence of its countries from the old colonial powers, and the oppression, encroachment and domination they have faced and will face.
It is a steadily aggressive and moving vision, which does not stop at borders or ends, and the Zionist entity adopts an expansionist settlement project without final borders. As for the Arab and Muslim countries and their borders and territorial integrity, they do not have any final legitimacy fixed and solid in the American vision, but they are in the language of Arab travelers and geographers who are authors of dictionaries of countries and conquests of countries, paths and kingdoms are "gaps", insecure or stable and vulnerable to raids, expansion and incursion of invaders. There are projects to divide and fragment most of these countries and states.
Sudan should not be united or Arab, it should be divided! Mesopotamia, with its ancient and unified civilization for thousands of years, must be divided: Arabs, Kurds, Turkmen, Sunnis, Shiites, Yazidis, Assyrians, Chaldeans and Sabians.
As for Palestine and its people, according to Winston Churchill: "the presence of a dog in the house does not give it a right in the house", so Great Britain decided who is the owner of the house! It is not a country for its people, but a space dedicated to an uprooting Zionist settlement project.
In a recent video, a retired American general (in civilian clothes) speaks that Syria is the "center of gravity" of Western civilization! (How?!) He warns of the invasion of Europe by Arab and Muslim armies soon. The general cites what he teaches at the American War College, and beats the drums of war and ignites its flames and fires.
Bloody borders
As a result, the presence of Arabs and Arabism in most countries of the nation – in the Western imperialist vision – is neither final nor taken for granted, but is not considered legitimate or authentic, and perhaps they should be exterminated or imprisoned in ghettos in the Arab deserts, like the ghettos of the American Indians! Or their displacement as the people of Gaza to Indonesia, Jordan and Egypt, as Donald Trump recently proposed and asked Israel to hand over the Gaza Strip to America, to rebuild it as the "Riviera" of the Middle East, receiving all the peoples of the world except its people, of course. The imperialist international order has referred the countries of the world Al-Arabi from strategically and geopolitically stable areas with their people, identities, ethnicities and civilization to countries occupied by long times, disputed "gaps" and bloody eternal "wars".
Samuel Huntington, in his famous article "The Clash of Civilizations" in Foreign Affairs, referred to the "bloody borders" surrounding the countries of the Islamic world, as an indicator of the "aggression" of Muslims and their involvement in chronic conflicts, not an indication of the aggression and imperialist ambitions to which they are subjected! The truth is that even if the borders of these countries are not bloody, their lands, borders, wealth and resources remain coveted and a "natural" target of Western domination, imperialist project and Zionist expansion.
These ongoing geopolitical threats and Western breakthroughs do not allow for political stability leading to a pluralistic, free and genuine representative system that expresses the nation's choices and right to self-determination for any of its countries. This desired fateful transformation will only be achieved by addressing the fragility, dependency and deep imbalances present in the nation's situation vis-à-vis the imperialist project with a tripartite program that warps the balance of power internally and externally:
1. Real independence that blocks the outlets for colonial breakthroughs and interventions and cuts off its plot.
2. Social justice that redistributes wealth, awakens the nation's marginalized groups, and enhances their participation in resistance, development and renaissance.
3. Empower the nation, expand its participation and spheres of action, and strengthen its representation, from the periphery to the center, to deter the encroachment of imperialism and its agents at home.
Zionism and anti-Semitism
However, there is an aspect of the U.S.-Israel relationship that has not received the discussion and reflection it deserves. Alon Mizrahi, a colonization scholar, believes that "Zionism is the final nail in the coffin of the American dream" and that "anti-Semitism" is the hammer. For the first time in its modern history, the United States is demonstrating a "moral" — or rather "immoral" — compatibility between its colonial behavior and its openly spoken rhetoric, or between behavior and image.
This truly unique period of history is witnessing major "tectonic" changes before our eyes with high precision, along with barbaric violence and global corruption. One superpower with extraordinary resources and capabilities is receding with apparent nervousness, while another power is steadily rising. Many people worry about environmental pollution, global warming, climate extremism, racism and inequality, but most of all about humanity itself: does it have any future at all? Will our children be able to live in peace and security? Or will they be hunted down by dictators armed with robotic armies and comprehensive technologies, as if derived from a disastrous science fiction novel that foresees a disastrous end to the world?
Mizrahi believes that humanity has a future, especially as it is about to get rid of one of its most destructive phenomena and epochs ever: the Western colonial project, led by the United States.
In a disgusting scene, the United States loses its power (along with its intelligence and self-esteem), revealing truths it was never willing to admit. One such fact is evident in the United States' violation, perhaps for the first time, of an old established American rule: the speech must remain intact and acceptable even during the most serious atrocities!
We have seen the United States commit heinous crimes; and now, in a historical precedent, we see it openly embracing (Zionist) evil in the way it speaks.
All of this is happening around the United States and because of the power of Zionism and its entrenched historical settlement orientation towards extermination, extermination and uprooting, but through Zionism as a channel for a dark psychological current that began four or five centuries ago.
The United States is now saying, "Yes, we kill innocent people, and that's normal." This, in my view, is an extraordinary moment that will have far-reaching and very serious consequences.
Between American speech and behavior, there is no longer room to brag or hide!
