Afrasianet - U.S. diplomat Hala Rarit, who resigned from her job at the State Department, said U.S. support for Israel will remain a stain on the United States for generations.
Rarit, who was the ministry's spokeswoman in Arabic, resigned in April in protest at the unequivocal US support for Israel in its war of annihilation in the Gaza Strip and in full view of the international community.
"It is devastating for me, not only as an American diplomat, but also as an American citizen, that my country, not only in the Arab world, but in most parts of the world, is seen as a country of child killers," Rarit said, stressing that she made efforts to change the administration's policy on Gaza before her resignation, but faced strong opposition.
The former diplomat added that this could not be claimed to be a war against Hamas and ignored the nearly two million civilians living in Gaza, expressing her belief that there are a large number of people who do not support US policy in Gaza, but prefer to remain silent because of fears of losing their jobs and for financial reasons.
Without U.S. weapons, Israel would not have been able to commit genocide in Gaza.
Asked if US President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken were aware of Israel's violations of international law and US laws with its crimes in Gaza, Rarett expressed confidence that they were fully aware, which has been confirmed by numerous reports.
With unequivocal American support, the year-long Israeli genocide in Gaza has left more than 140,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and famine that has killed tens of thousands of children and the elderly.
Israel continues its massacres, ignoring the UN Security Council's resolution to end them immediately and the orders of the International Court of Justice to take measures to prevent
genocide and improve the catastrophic humanitarian situation in Gaza.
