Afrasianet - Slogans and resonant headlines that Western countries and the United States have raised over decades, such as democracy, human rights, and freedom of expression. It took many years to establish it in the world, but it all fell and collapsed within 4 months, as a result of supporting Israeli crimes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, showing that everything that the West used to sing about is just a point of view that can change and change according to the political position of the "executioner".

Not only that, but Western countries, led by the United States of course, continue to practice blatant double standards, supplying Israel with weapons. On the other hand, it calls for a ceasefire, but all it does to suggest pressure on Israel is to threaten to impose sanctions on its soldiers, and it does not!

During the last World Economic Forum held in Switzerland in Davos at the beginning of the year, the head of the Palestine Investment Fund, Mohammed Mustafa, highlighted the damage caused to the Gaza Strip as a result of the Israeli attack, revealing a number of shocking figures, which are likely to rise, of course, with the continuation of the war and Tel Aviv's intransigence and rejection of the ceasefire.

In return for all this crime, the European Union and the United States threaten to confiscate Russian funds outside the country, that is, to steal them, as is the custom of the Americans and their European dependents as a punitive measure for the invasion of Ukraine, in order to rebuild it.

The figures revealed there make the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip almost impossible, due to the high costs, and in light of the economic crisis experienced by most countries of the world, not to mention their refusal to help the Palestinians in reconstruction.

Mustafa said at the time that the reconstruction of housing units in Gaza may require more than $ 15 billion, at least, explaining that international reports indicate that 350,000 housing units have been completely or partially destroyed in Gaza.

Assuming that 150,000 of these units need to be rebuilt at an average cost of $100,000 per housing unit, this means that the total cost would be about $15 billion, not to mention the costs of damaged and destroyed infrastructure, hospitals, schools and places of worship.

In return for all this criminality, the European Union and the United States threaten to confiscate Russian funds located outside the country, which means theft and piracy in the name of "as a punitive measure for the invasion of Ukraine, in order to rebuild it."

This highlights the largest "double standards" practiced by Western countries in approaching the war in Ukraine and Israel against Gaza, as they look closely at Ukraine and apply its proven humanitarian and human rights standards  to Ukrainians, while turning a blind eye to what Israel is committing in Gaza.

A few days ago, the European Union adopted a law deducting profits from frozen Russian assets, in the first step to finance the reconstruction of Ukraine.

Earlier, the United States had floated the idea of completely confiscating Russian assets, but EU officials considered that such a measure could pose a legal risk, limiting themselves to sources of profits only.

The Kremlin has previously warned that any attempt to use the assets of the Russian central bank would be illegal and undermine the entire global economic system. Moscow has also hinted that it could confiscate $288 billion worth of assets of Western countries if they confiscate their assets to be used in Ukraine's reconstruction.

The EU estimates that about €15 billion ($16.17 billion) of these profits could be allocated to Ukraine over the next four years, coincidentally the same figure needed to rebuild housing units in the Gaza Strip.

Russia holds a third of that money in EU countries at the Belgian clearing house known as Euroclear. So far, taxes on Russian assets in Belgium have been allocated to a fund dedicated to Ukraine managed by the Belgian government.

The law means that the Euroclear Chamber will refrain from using profits from Russian assets and will commit to keeping them separate, as will all Western institutions with more than 1 million euros ($1.1 million) of Russian assets.

The EU estimates that about €15 billion ($16.17 billion) of these profits could be allocated to Ukraine over the next four years, coincidentally the same figure needed to rebuild housing units in the Gaza Strip.

Do Western countries or the United States dare to confiscate Israeli assets abroad for the reconstruction of the Israeli-ravaged Gaza Strip or, at the very least, to fund UNRWA for Palestinian refugees?
