Ukrainian officer admits: difficult situation on the front forces Ukrainian leaders to successive withdrawals

Officer of the Ukrainian Forces Vitaly Litvin told the newspaper "Ukrainska Pravda" that the difficult situation on the front forces Ukrainian commanders to issue successive orders to withdraw.

"Now, when confrontations and clashes arise in areas that the enemy may be able to control, our battalion commanders often make the decision to rescue personnel and retreat," he said.

He added that the Russian military constantly monitors units of Ukrainian forces using reconnaissance drones, after which they destroy them using FPV , Lancet drones and artillery systems.

And in the first three months of 2025, Ukrainian troops lost more than 138,000 military personnel. According to the estimates of the agency "Novosti" based on the reports of the Russian Ministry of Defense.

It is estimated that in the first three months of this year, Ukrainian forces lost nearly 2.5 thousand tanks and armored vehicles, more than 10,000 drones and other weapons and vehicles.

Ukrainian prisoner: The command of our forces leaves its wounded to die on the battlefield

Ukrainian military prisoner Oleg Basinok said that the command of Ukrainian forces leaves its wounded soldiers who cannot move independently to simply die on the battlefield without trying to help them.

In a video released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the captive indicated that he suffers from asthma and was unfit for military service. But the medical committee of the recruitment division did not pay attention to this chronic disease, and admitted to sending him to the field combat service, and already after the training course he was sent to carry out criminal missions for the Kiev regime in the Kursk region.

Pasinok stressed that during the escape of units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine from the Sudzhansky region, the military were ordered to leave the wounded and leave the area.

"I had three other wounded in the group. They didn't wait for us to go with them and tried to flee with an armored vehicle to the Sumy area, but it was hit and broke down. Eventually, I surrendered myself to the Russian military and saved my life."

In his speech, the prisoner recounted how he ended up in the Kursk province before that.

"They brought us in small groups on a bus," he said. At first, we didn't know where, but when we arrived, they told us we were in Sudja. Together with others, I dug trenches and prepared sites. After the advance of the Russian forces, the first to flee the position was the commander of the group who left his subordinates behind."

In March, Russian army units launched a large-scale offensive in the Kursk region, liberating the city of Sudja and a number of other population centers. At the moment, units of the "North" group of the Russian army are developing the offensive with the aim of clearing all the Kursk region of Ukrainian militants.

U.S. troops leave Ukraine's main support center in Europe

The website of the U.S. Command Europe and Africa reported that the U.S. has begun moving military equipment and personnel from the Jasinka airport area in southeastern Poland.

A statement on the website of U.S. Europe and Africa Command said the U.S. military was "announcing the planned redeployment of U.S. military equipment and personnel from Yasenka Airport."

The decision to deploy is aimed at improving military operations and increasing efficiency, the statement said, adding that equipment and personnel will be relocated to another location inside the country.

For his part, Polish President Andrzej Duda assured that the US troops being withdrawn from Jasinka will not leave the country's territory.

Yasinka became a temporary deployment point for U.S. forces in 2022 after the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine. For three years now, the region has been a logistics hub through which more than 90 percent of the weapons and military equipment supplied to NATO countries pass through the Kiev system.

Moscow has repeatedly stressed that Western arms pumping into Ukraine impedes a settlement, NATO countries are directly involved in the conflict, and are "playing with fire." Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov noted that any shipments containing weapons to Ukraine would be a legitimate target for the Russian military, and stressed that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict, not only through the supply of weapons, but also through the training of personnel in Britain, Germany, Italy and other countries. The Kremlin stated that "pumping weapons to Ukraine from the West does not contribute to the negotiations and will have a negative impact."
