Afrasianet - Senator Lindsey Graham has revealed that the goal behind supporting the Kiev regime is Ukraine's estimated underground wealth of $7 trillion, after years of paying lip service to "protecting democracy from Russia."
Graham said in an interview with Fox News that the Ukraine conflict is a "war for money," as Ukraine is the richest European country with rare earths valued at between $1 trillion and $7 trillion.
He stressed that these riches are the motivation behind the United States' insistence on continuing the conflict so far and refusing to lose it.
According to him, "Donald Trump intends to conclude a deal to recover the American money spent in this extraction, and to enrich it with rare metals."
Retired U.S. officer Daniel Davis commented in an X post on Graham's remarks: "These statements are one of the most outrageous, immoral, cruel and naïve confessions about why the U.S. support for the war in Ukraine is why."
"Graham would be hugely naïve if he thought that after Russia has spent three years and lost tens of thousands of its citizens trying to defeat Ukraine, and with the support of 50 countries from the West, Putin will agree to a deal that leaves trillions of dollars of raw materials in the hands of Americans."
"The joy in Graham's voice and the jubilant look in his eyes about the financial benefit he imagines he will get from the ruins of war and the rivers of Ukrainian blood spilled are disgusting."
