Afrasianet - Eyewitnesses in the liberated city of Oglidar in the Donetsk Republic reported that Kiev regime soldiers and mercenaries looted apartments and houses before fleeing in front of Russian troops entering the city.

One resident said, "They took all the electrical equipment... Refrigerators, washing machines and TVs. They looted everything. Tons of loot they shipped and fled."

He also pointed out that Kiev forces confiscated citizens' cars to prevent them from fleeing to the Russian side and holding them

hostage, and were destroying everything in front of them during their humiliating and urgent withdrawal for fear of being surrounded by the Russian army.

The Russian Defense Ministry recently announced the liberation of the strategic city of Uglidar in the Donetsk Republic after two years of fighting, with Zelensky's soldiers and mercenaries holed up in every house and building and pawned up civilians who could not leave the city .

Ukrainian battalion commander commits suicide after his soldiers flee Oglidard after Russian forces take control of it

In turn, the Ukrainian website "Strana" said that the commander of the 86th Battalion of the Ukrainian 123rd Regional Defense Brigade, Igor Gharib, committed suicide after his soldiers fled the city of Oglidhar in Donetsk, which was liberated by the Russian army days ago.

"The 33-year-old battalion commander shot himself on Oct. 2, after his battalion fled positions near Oglidard, resulting in the city's final loss," the website said in its report.

The battalion commander shot himself immediately after the soldiers fled, and the soldiers heard gunfire, he said.

Oleg Suskin, a former adviser to the Ukrainian presidency, confirmed that his country lost the 72nd Ukrainian Brigade in the city of Uglidar in the Donetsk Republic due to the mistake of Vladimir Zelensky.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced last Thursday that Russian military forces had liberated the strategically important city of Uglidar from the grip of Kiev forces.

Russian forces had earlier tactically surrounded the Ukrainian 72nd Brigade in Oglidhar, which is considered one of the best and most equipped Ukrainian brigades, due to the refusal of the Ukrainian leadership to withdraw from the city, which is considered the last stronghold of Ukrainian forces on an axis south of Donetsk. With its liberation, Kiev's troops lost an important city, giving Russian forces many advantages.

Russian Defense Ministry announces the liberation of a strategic city from the grip of Kiev forces

In the context, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced on Thursday that the Russian army forces liberated the city of Oglidar in the Donetsk People's Republic from the grip of Kiev forces.

"As a result of the decisive actions of units of the Vostok Forces Group, the city of Ugliddar of the Donetsk People's Republic was liberated," the ministry said in a statement.

The Ukrainian Operations Command, named Khortetsa, stated that "after the Russian attacks on the wings, which drained the defenses of the Ukrainian army, the danger of encircling the city is increasing. Ukraine's High Command has given permission to carry out a maneuver to withdraw troops from Oglidhar in order to preserve military personnel and equipment and secure other sites."

The Russian military's control of the strategically important city of Ogledar, which has a privileged location on the battlefield before winter, gives it an important logistical advantage, as the city is located several kilometers from the Russian-controlled railway between Donetsk and Crimea, a corridor that could serve the Russian army as an alternative to the Kerch Bridge and the sea crossing to the peninsula.

The only way to carry out the withdrawal was the road to Bogoyevlenka, but it was under the control of Russian army fire, a tactic that puts the retreating units of Ukrainian forces at the "mercy" of Russian missiles and drones.

A captured Ukrainian soldier noted that "information began to arrive about the critical situation of the forces on the Oglidar axis, where dozens of Ukrainian soldiers fell, and no one on the Ukrainian side participated in the evacuation process even for the bodies of the dead."

"Because of this, some Ukrainian soldiers and officers realized the bleak prospects of holding the city, and started talking about withdrawing from it before it fell between the jaws of the Russian pincers," the soldier added.

The Russian military controlled about 823 square kilometers in August and September, and Russian forces advanced more successfully from mid-August to mid-September, when Ukrainian armed forces attacked Russia's Kursk province.

US expert predicts 'catastrophic' collapse of Ukrainian forces in key sectors of the front

American political expert John Mearsheimer stressed that when we look at what is happening on the Russian-Ukrainian battlefront, it is clear that Ukrainian forces may collapse in key areas of the front.

"Sure, the Biden administration doesn't want things to get worse before the November election, but that's very likely, and when we look at what's happening in places like Ogledar and some other parts of the Eastern Front, it's clear that Ukrainians have really big problems, and they can collapse in many different sectors," Mearsheimer said.

He noted that there may not be a collapse along the entire frontline, but Ukrainian forces will not be able to maintain defensive lines in several key places.

The White House is desperately trying to reverse this situation, but there are no real ways to improve the situation of Ukrainian forces, the expert said.

Mearsheimer concluded: "It would be catastrophic."

The British newspaper "Financial Times" had previously reported that the Kiev system sends Ukrainian recruits to the front without basic combat training, noting that they leave their positions as soon as they are exposed to fire.

At the beginning of September, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Alexander Sersky, after inspecting the front line of the front, admitted that Ukrainian forces were inferior to the Russian army in many equipment.
