Afrasianet - Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russia will inevitably know that Ukraine has received permission from the West to use long-range missiles, if such permission is granted.
Minister Lavrov stressed that Russian response measures will immediately enter into force in this case.
Lavrov added: "We have stopped following this topic (granting Kiev permission to strike Russia with long-range precision missiles) since President Vladimir Putin said what we will do, and what conclusions we will draw if such a decision is made."
"But if this decision is indeed adopted, we will know about it and the blueprint mentioned by the president will already be
implemented," the minister said in an interview with Channel One television.
Yesterday, Minister Lavrov said that talk of Ukrainian forces bombing deep into Russian territory with Western weapons is playing with fire and could have serious consequences. The Russian minister added in an interview with the American magazine Newsweek: "The possibility of allowing the Ukrainian armed forces to use Western long-range missiles to strike deep inside Russia is being discussed. Such playing with fire can have serious consequences. As President Vladimir Putin has said, we will make appropriate decisions based on our understanding of the threats posed by the West. Draw conclusions for yourself."
Earlier, the Russian president stated that representatives of NATO countries should be aware of "what they are playing with" when they talk about plans to allow Kiev to strike targets deep into Russian territory using missile systems that the West has transferred to the Ukrainian armed forces .
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the possible response of the Russian Federation to the new attacks on Russian territory, noted that the head of state and the military are aware of this, "and appropriate countermeasures are being taken to address them."
Medvedev: Britain may sink in the coming years and our missiles may help to do so
In turn, Deputy Chairman of the Russian National Security Council Dmitry Medvedev commented on British Foreign Secretary David Lamy's remarks on the partnership with Ukraine.
Medvedev wrote on the social networking site X on Wednesday: "British Foreign Secretary David Lamy promised Ukraine support for 100 years."
"First, he's lying. Second, the so-called Ukraine will not last for a quarter of this period."
"Third, the island called Britain could sink in the coming years, and our hypersonic missiles could help it if necessary."
British Foreign Secretary David Lamy, who visited Kiev on Wednesday with his US counterpart Antony Blinken, spoke of Britain's support for Ukraine "for 100 years".
