Afrasianet - Scott Ritter, a former officer in the US Marine Corps, believes the European Union will collapse due to growing contradictions, and with it NATO.  

The expert wrote in a post on the social media platform X: "Inevitably, the European Union and NATO will collapse, and we will have to collide with reality and confront it. Previously, everyone believed that there would be no major wars in Europe, everyone cooperating with each other and borders were drawn between countries. But why, then, did Kosovo forge a military alliance with Croatia and Albania? We have big problems in the Balkans." 

According to the expert, all this has pushed Serbia towards a rapprochement in the defensive field with Hungary and Slovakia.

"Will NATO fight against NATO? This alliance no longer exists at all."

The former American officer pointed out that the apparent prosperity that Europe is witnessing is only a façade behind which there are only bitter conflicts that continue.

"Has Europe ever really been a center of stability? After World War II, the two German states had huge armies ready to destroy each other at the first opportunity. In the nineties, war broke out in Yugoslavia, and NATO invaded Kosovo. Now we see that Turkey and Greece are ready for war at any moment, having fought a war in Cyprus in 1974."

On March 20, the defense ministers of Croatia, Albania and Kosovo signed a declaration of intent to create a military alliance. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic described the treaty as a sub-regional arms control agreement and proposed to Hungary and Slovakia to form a similar union.

Indeed, in early April, Serbia and Hungary signed a plan for bilateral military cooperation until 2025 and a document on the implementation of strategic cooperation in the field of defense.
