Afrasianet - After more than 500 days of war in Ukraine, there can now be no reason to believe that things are going the way the United States, its European allies, or NATO had hoped.
All options have been exhausted, sanctions have not worked, as well as the billions spent on the war against Russia, most of which, of course, went into the pockets of Ukrainian officials who are in power now or who were expelled from it after smelling because of corruption.
The Europeans and the Americans are exhausted under the influence of internal and external pressure together after the developments that shattered the dreams of those who planned and cheered the exhaustion of Russia and thus its defeat.
It is noticeable here that the hysterical statements that characterized officials in the European Union, NATO, as well as the Americans, have diminished and almost disappeared.
For example, governments in Poland, Estonia, Slovakia and elsewhere in Central and Eastern Europe were among Kiev's strongest allies. But, as the leaders of some of these countries face re-election battles or other domestic challenges, and as governments worry about the impact of Ukraine's accession to the European Union, that support is waning.
The problem for Kiev is that support is declining not only in Poland. Since the beginning of the war, the Baltic states have led the pro-Ukrainian campaign in Brussels and Washington, and perhaps no one has been as vocal or effective as Estonia's prime minister, Kaja Kallas.
But Callas's credibility was damaged by a scandal involving her husband, depriving Kiev of one of her strongest defenders in Western capitals.
Slovakia, which has been among Ukraine's biggest backers in Europe, elections scheduled for September 30 could turn it into a skeptic state overnight.
Former Prime Minister Robert Fico is campaigning on a pro-Russian and anti-American platform.
As for military aid, the White House Strategic Communications Coordinator, John Kirby, announced that the United States has the potential to provide Ukraine with military aid for several more weeks.
In an interview with CNN, Kirby says, "We still have some funding. Poland declares that it is not willing to pump supplies of weapons into Ukraine, and the White House is quick to try to reverse its decision by saying the United States will help Poland with two billion dollars.
The United States is Ukraine's biggest backer, with military aid alone provided since the start of the Russian military operation worth more than $44 billion, but the destination of the unknown funds is pushing Michael Baile, the deputy national security adviser, to direct a list of reforms to the Ukrainian leadership that must be achieved in order to receive more aid. Note that the name wraps around the desired destination, which stipulates the need to know where this aid goes.
The United States of America and the European Union lost the "war of attrition" against Russia
No one believes or believes that Ukraine can achieve anything in its war against Russia as a spearhead for the Atlanticists.
For example, the European Union's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, who has not stopped repeating fabricated statements and accusations against Russia almost daily, retreats in front of the new facts to say that the rules that have governed the world in recent years are gradually disappearing, while many countries are looking for an alternative to the Western model.
Between protectionism and sanctions, the division in the international economy is gradually reinforcing and the West is trying to force the countries of the world to join its axis vis-à-vis Russia and China, even at the expense of its profits. For example, the US military company Raytheon terminated a contract with Saudi Arabia worth $ 17 billion due to the relationship of the Saudi partner, Scopa Defense, with Russia, China and Belarus, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal on 15/9/2023.
At the same time, the United States has been coercively dependent on Russia to provide it with about a third of its needs of low-enriched nuclear fuel to operate its nuclear reactors, which provokes great anger in Congress and in the American media, and prompts the US administration to search for alternative sources, including Kazakhstan, and thus explains some of the American rush towards Central Asia to drag it away from Russia and China.
Sanctions turn into a banditry, as the Venezuelan delegation to the United Nations General Assembly presented, on 21/9/2023, a "geopolitical map of economic sanctions" that included details and statistics showing that 30 countries are under the weight of Western sanctions, including 9 countries that are currently subjected to strict Western targeting and direct blockade, led by Russia, Syria, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Iran and Cuba, in addition to countries that were previously exhausted by the blockade such as Iraq and Libya.
The West is experiencing worsening problems, reflected in the news of recent weeks. It included:
The US public debt has reached the threshold of $ 33 trillion, the heated disagreement in Congress, again, over the draft budget for next year, and the risk of bankruptcy of the government and the disruption of its institutions if no agreement is reached.
The European Commission announced, in a report issued a few days ago, that the growth rate in the euro area this year will not exceed 0.8%, after it expected it to reach 1.1%, and that it will not exceed 1.3% next year, after it expected it to reach 1.6%. Foreign direct investment in the EU has fallen 80% since 2021.
The announcement by the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, that 8 million young people in the European Union are unemployed, not in training or educational programs. Budget pressures, particularly European spending on the Ukraine war, prevent the EU from allocating resources to these young people, which serves as electoral fuel for right-wing parties and candidates opposed to EU membership.
D – The outbreak of the largest labor strike in the United States in decades, which is the strike of auto workers in the 3 major car manufacturers in the United States, which began on 15/9/2023. The strike is led by the 150,000-member Auto Workers' Union. It is noteworthy that the trade union movement is witnessing a significant increase in the United States against the backdrop of the deterioration of workers' living conditions, mainly due to high prices, and their increasing debt (credit card debt exceeded one trillion dollars). From the beginning of this year to September, there have been 250 labor strikes involving 600,000 workers in various economic sectors, from shipping and railroads to major companies such as Starbucks and Alphabet, to Chicago area teachers.
With all of the above, the United States of America is still trying to use new cards after draining everything from them.
America does not care about Ukraine as it claims, and the Ukrainian president does not care about the Ukrainian people, as the important thing is that after he became the favorite puppet of the Americans, he continues to play the role dictated to him, while there are no longer Ukrainian people after they were displaced because of the unhappiness of the policy pursued by officials.
It is said that there is an American-European trend to call for a conference to declare that Crimea is Ukrainian land and with the bringing of some Ukrainians claiming that they are from the peninsula want to return to Ukraine claiming that they represent Crimea, and this meeting may be held in the first week of next October, perhaps, but this play will soon disappear and fall into the circle of failure and miserable Atlantic dreams will remain just ink on paper, as everyone, led by the United States of America, knows that a peninsula Crimea is a Russian land and its inhabitants are Russian people.
So what is left in the Atlanticians' quiver?
