A statelet in Idlib under US protection

Afrasianet - Day  after day, media appearances confirm that Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of the terrorist "Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham" (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra), is nothing but an executive tool in the hands of his financiers and supporters in Turkey and Qatar, as well as in the United States of America.

The latter claims that he is wanted and pursued, and in exchange for information he receives was set up for a prize of $10 million. How do you explain his wandering that day in a parade manner near the Syrian-Turkish border, and his stay in an open area for more than 23 minutes, in conjunction with the flight of Exceptional for American drones.

This event was a source of regret for many observers, that American planes worked to secure protection for him until the completion of this tour.

We are talking here about the  project inaugurated by Al-Julani, which is a  road linking the city and the Bab Al-Hawa crossing, which was repaved, expanded and illuminated, at a cost of about two million dollars, with a length of about 3 km.

Over the past months, al-Julani has been stepping up his media engagements  in an effort to emerge as a "statesman." So that he appears in his looks wearing civilian suits, and holds meetings with the government that he formed in the city and called it the Salvation Government, and presented during the meeting his theses on economic affairs.

He discussed the situation in the city and the areas controlled by his organization, focusing on the bread crisis in the northern Syrian region, talking about the problem of food security, promising to improve the living conditions of the population, and urgently subsidizing bread. By providing amounts of revenue for it.

In this context, more than three years ago, al-Julani began to seize economic joints in the areas under his control. Among them is the Bab al-Hawa border crossing between Turkey and Syria, where the entry of all forms of goods is required, even on food aid from international aid institutions.

The leader of the organization, which carried out the first suicide bombing operations in the country, also established a large number of companies that disrupted various activities, which monopolized vital goods and services, including real estate companies that implement Projects with Turkish and Qatari financial support, in addition to companies that manage the oil sectors (such as Watad Petroleum Company), poultry, remittances and others.

Salvation Government

A government affiliated with Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham in Idlib was formed in early November 2017, after the abolition of local councils.

- It is currently led by "Ali Keda" since November 2019, who appears with Al-Julani at the opening of the last project, and was elected by a legislative body called the General Shura Council.

This "government" collects taxes and manages many sectors, and its tax increases, rising commodity prices, and accusations of monopolies on basic commodities such as fuel led to widespread protests that took place between October and the second of 2019, against Al-Julani and the security forces of this illegitimate government.

Abu Muhammad al-Julani, commander-in-chief of Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, announced in a video clip the rejection of the talks taking place between Syria and the Turkish side, stressing that they are a serious deviation that affects the goals of the Syrian revolution.

In his speech, Al-Julani stressed the rejection  of the principle of reconciliation by President Assad and vowed to continue the revolution until the overthrow of the regime and the  liberation of Damascus, considering that the battle with the regime is a battle of right and wrong, calling on all Syrians to "face the challenges that the Syrian revolution is going through."

Al-Julani, who  flirted with the United States and the West more than once and offered America a partnership in Idlib, Syria, for sharing their hostility to the Syrian state, has already presented his credentials as a terrorist in the service of America and against Russia in a very, very sensitive area of Moscow.

Russian security forces said they foiled a terrorist attack in Simferopol, detained two Tahrir al-Sham supporters, "who were planning to blow up an educational institution in the city, and then flee through Ukraine and Turkey to Syria. With this information, Al-Julani has involved himself in a conflict between adults and is not expected to emerge unscathed, especially since he is still on the US list of terrorists.

The important point in this event is that the common point between the Syrian opposition groups of different titles is "employment", if their differences are political with the ruling current, does this give them the right to mercenary to other countries?, and does this serve their "claim" about the democracy they say they want (knowing that Al-Nusra is not in the question of talking about democracy, and its prisons are full of prisoners of conscience), and does this mercenary make them for the benefit of countries, not only in Syria but in Azerbaijan, Libya and Yemen?

Despite the designation of Tahrir al-Sham on the "terrorist" lists, the international coalition, led by the United States of America, focused on targeting or  arresting "jihadists" affiliated with the "Guardians of Religion" organization in northwestern Syria, in addition to others affiliated with al-Qaeda and the Islamic State, without attacking leaders in Tahrir al-Sham.

Tahrir al-Sham, led by Abu Muhammad al-Julani, has sought regional and international acceptance of the de facto authority imposed by northwestern Syria, and has used its rhetoric and interviews with foreign journalists to do so.

The "propaganda of the Commission and its messages externally" turned towards Turkey and Western countries, in a clear rhetorical shift that included softening the tone and adopting diplomacy and the language of realistic politics and interests .

But the reality is that Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham, led by al-Julani, puts itself in the position of the American reserve if any American problems develop with Turkey, and this is certain, there are no limits to the aspirations of such organizations, which can abandon any alliances in exchange for better alliances that secure their wealth and survival.
