Biography of a City
By Saudi author: Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Al-Maatouq
Afrasianet - Dar Fadaat issued a new book entitled " Tarut.. The Green Island and the Port of Time", and the book is located in 380 pages of large pieces.
This book travels the author Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Al-Maatouk with the reader in a world full of science and valuable knowledge, and he does not express in these thoughts and memories what he saw as a witness to his time only, but derives from memory
His father, that great scholar, extends his visions to distant worlds and horizons, and makes his ideas and manifestations more original and sober. The author's illumination of his father's experiences and his benefit from his memory has two important implications, the first of which is reverence for the father, righteousness and recognition of his bounty. The second is that the information, ideas and visions he gave must become more reliable and credible, because they are reinforced by the experiences of the one who testified to him of knowledge, goodness, honesty and intimate connection with society and the earth, who is the author's father.
In terms of content, this book is of great archaeological, touristic, heritage and popular importance, because it deals with those majestic landmarks included in the island of Tarut, this island, which exceeded the borders of its country with its cultural symbolism: the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Rather, the entire Gulf region, and because this approach came according to an approach that made the book a sociological, economic, ethnic, demographic, geographical, historical, folklore, linguistic or linguistic study of wide dimensions.
This book includes extensive material for everything related to Tarut Island. That picturesque spot. In it, the author talked about the nature of this island and its intellectual and cultural heritage. He talked about the individual, society, its culture and its folklore, linguistic and artistic heritage, and talked about women in various dimensions of their lives. He presented all this in a language full of love, longing and nostalgia for those warm days, and in a smooth and sophisticated literary style, from which the reader benefits grammatically, exclusively, eloquently and beautifully photography. In the field of literature and folklore, a lot is also benefited.
In short, this book immortalizes Tarot, its people, culture, scholars, customs of its people, intellectual, spiritual, urban, linguistic and professional heritage, and highlights its civilization, which began before Christ and extended to the present day, it is a compass for the researcher, the scientist, the tourist, the son of the island and others: it is Tarot in pages! After all, it is a link between the past and the present, between previous and subsequent generations. Not only the people of Tarut, but also the generations of the Gulf or Arab region in general. It connects them to their cultural legacies and guides them on ways to preserve them.
