The West in its new discourse to the Israelis: Look for a new form of killing Palestinians!

Afrasianet - Ziad Ghosn - So far, Western countries do not oppose Tel Aviv's continuation of its war on the Palestinians, but rather urge it to change the way it conducts that war in order to absorb the rising public anger globally over Israeli massacres and crimes.

After more than six months of launching a devastating war on the Gaza Strip and killing more than 33,400 Palestinians, the Western discourse towards Israel has changed somewhat, moving from declaring absolute support for the Zionist entity in its aggression against the Gaza Strip to demanding concrete steps in terms of increasing aid, and changing the means and mechanisms of warfare in order to reduce the number of civilian casualties, against the backdrop of the killing of seven foreign aid workers.

The "change" was translated into US President Joe Biden's recent call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was said to have been the "hardest" since Oct. 7. According to a White House press release, Biden told Netanyahu that "Israel must announce and implement a series of specific, concrete and measurable steps to address harm to civilians, human suffering, and the safety of aid workers."

This is also the view of the statements of representatives of Western countries in the Security Council during the meeting held last Friday to discuss the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, or those that were said after the announcement of the killing of the relief workers of the World Kitchen Foundation.

In the new Western positions regarding Israel's aggression against the Gaza Strip, we can stop at a number of points, most notably:

Western countries do not yet oppose Tel Aviv's continuation of its war on the Palestinians, but urge it to change the way it conducts that war in order to absorb the rising popular anger globally over Israeli massacres and crimes.

The new coded Western message addresses the Israelis in the meantime: We don't tell you not to kill Palestinians or bomb their homes, but the current form is exposed and traditional... Look for a new form of killing.

Otherwise, these countries could have effectively stopped the export of weapons to Israel, not obstructing any resolution in the UN Security Council that obliges Tel Aviv to cease fire. etc.

Talking about measures and steps that Israelis are required to implement that are measurable is nothing more than an attempt to manipulate terminology and deceive world public opinion.

The Western procedure through which Tel Aviv's implementation of procedures and steps will be measured is biased, inaccurate and unreliable, as it has failed over the past six months to measure the extent of Israeli violations of international and humanitarian laws and norms, and to show the reality of Israel's ethnic and racial cleansing and genocide, the largest since World War II.

- The contents of some Western statements calling on Israel to approve the entry of more relief aid to the cities of the Gaza Strip and to prevent the targeting of relief crews is today marketed as a Western achievement or a shift in the position on the war on the Gaza Strip, while most Western countries have not yet lived up to what was announced by other Western countries such as Spain, Ireland and others, which demand an end to the war on Gaza, accountability for Israel for its crimes, and recognition of an independent Palestinian state.

The coincidence of the new Western positions with the killing of seven foreign aid workers, which sparked a wave of international criticism, confirms the reality of the ongoing Western hypocrisy regarding the Gaza issue.

If these positions were serious and sincere, they would have come after the horrific scenes contained in the first images received from the Shifa Medical Complex, following the withdrawal of Israeli forces after its complete destruction, the killing of hundreds, the rape of women and the burial of many alive, or in response to the killing of more than 200 UN staff working for United Nations agencies concerned with relief affairs, or after dozens of children and women died of hunger and disease.

Therefore, had it not been for the killing of international aid workers, Western countries would not have changed their public rhetoric in support of the Israeli massacres.

When the Security Council stopped the Israeli aggression against Lebanon in the summer of 2006, it was not out of American concern for the blood of the Lebanese, but because the resistance was able to withstand and inflict heavy losses on the Israeli forces in terms of lives and equipment.

-  The steadfastness of the resistance factions and their underlining of heroic epics documented by audio and video, as well as the growing Israeli recognition of the failure to achieve the previously stated objectives of the war, namely the final elimination of the resistance factions and the release of Zionist prisoners held by the resistance factions;

- The pressures that have been posed by the ongoing protest movements in capitals and cities of the world and the clear shift in the attitudes of world public opinion, which has become supportive of the Palestinian cause on the one hand, and condemning the crimes and massacres committed by the Israeli forces against Palestinian women, children, the elderly and the sick, on the other;

The impact of this factor can be seen in the shift in the positions of the major media outlets globally, which at the beginning of the war took a pro-Israel stance but most of them could not continue to adopt that position in light of the images received daily from the Gaza Strip.

- The success of Arab and Islamic institutions in Western countries in pressuring political leaders and governments, especially in the United States of America, which is witnessing presidential primaries, where President Biden received many electoral slaps in some states as a result of Arabs and Muslims boycotting his election campaign and voting against him.

Western interests in the region are endangered by the continued Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and its attempt to expand the war regionally on the one hand, and the support actions carried out by the resistance factions in several countries on the other hand.

The Western deadline given to Netanyahu to eliminate Hamas and other resistance factions expired a long time ago and he did not achieve what he promised, and therefore the prolongation of the war causes the possibility of destabilizing some countries in the region allied to Washington, and oil prices will be exposed to significant rises that will benefit some countries such as the Russian Federation, contrary to what Washington plans.

Netanyahu may have rushed shortly after his last call with Biden to announce some measures, such as allowing aid to enter through some crossings, but this will not change the suffering of the residents of the Gaza Strip, who are threatened at every moment with death, either by rockets, shells or snipers, as the "army" whose members kill unarmed people carrying food for their children, and bury others alive will not suddenly turn into a meek lamb, and will not abide overnight with international and humanitarian laws, and will not distribute aid and water bottles to the Palestinians. Hungry, sick and sleeping in the open. Therefore, do not expect anything better than what Western countries are trying to promote in the media regarding their new position on the war on the Gaza Strip.
