Afrasianet - Palestinian actor and comedian Mahmoud Zuaiter appeared from the Palestinian coast of Gaza in a short videotape, waiting for the arrival of the ships of the "Steadfastness" flotilla and saying, "They (the Israelis) can prevent you from reaching us, but you have reached our hearts."
Another young man, Amer Ismail, appeared with the Gaza coast behind him, addressing the Flotilla activists:
"We appreciate everything you do, and it is a great honor for us to see people risking their lives for the children of Gaza to break the illegal blockade. At the same time, the pages of the Freedom Flotilla Global March to Gaza, the Convoy of Resilience, and the supporters of the Palestinian people on social media, were posting hundreds of videos of thousands of activists on board nearly 50 ships, recording their messages to humanity, photographing the route of the trip, and detailing the attack led by the Israeli navy, and the piracy that most of the ships were subjected to.
It was attacked by about 10 Israeli ships. The fleet issued a distress call calling what was happening a "war crime". Some of the activists recorded the ways in which Israeli forces dealt with them, including throwing cannons at water contaminated with waste, and their communications with others were cut off.
The ships of the fleet carried world-famous figures, such as American actors Mark Ruffalo and Susan Sarandon, Italian singer Fiorella Manoa, Irish actor Liam Cunningham, Italian historian Alessandro Barreiro, Brazilian activist Thiago Avila, Nkosi Zwelivel, grandson of the late South African President Nelson Mandela, and Rima Hassan, a member of the European Parliament of Palestinian origin.
Greta Thunberg, wearing a necklace with a map of Palestine on it, sent a message to the world: "If you are watching this video, it means that I have been detained against my will by Israeli forces."
Another activist, Emma Fore, also broadcast a message in which she said she was a member of the European Parliament, and confirmed that if we are watching this video "it means that I was kidnapped by Israel, or by its extermination forces.
Our mission was non-violent and respected international law. I call on you to put pressure on the French and Swedish governments to demand my release and the release of all my comrades," another activist, Thiago Avila, from Brazil, broadcast a similar message, as did more than 500 volunteers from 47 countries that the campaign announced were illegally arrested in international territorial waters after Israel intercepted the flotilla.
The flotilla announced that its Miquino vessel had entered Gaza's territorial waters and bypassed the blockade.
A member of the Turkish delegation, Ramadan Tung, commented on the incident, saying, "This means that the siege has actually been broken. I want to share with you the joy of the arrival of our Mikino in Gaza, which has been under a massive land and sea blockade by Israel for years."
For example, Italy's largest trade union declared a general strike on Friday to protest Israel's blockade of the flotilla, demonstrations in several cities, and the expulsion of Israel's diplomatic mission in Colombia.
One of these important meanings is that it is a transcontinental and national movement, and that it is an event that connects the political struggles of human beings against genocide, ethnic cleansing, and outright racism, with their struggles for the environment and social justice.
