Gaza was not broken and Israel did not win

Afrasianet - Mohamed Ayesh - The Israeli army has failed to forcibly repatriate any of its prisoners in the Gaza Strip in two years of violent war and ended up retrieving them in a swap deal that would have taken place the day after their abduction could have saved both sides a war that lasted more than 730 days and cost both sides heavy losses.

If we assume that the war on Gaza is already over, and if we assume that Israel will not resume the war again, it means that Netanyahu has completely failed to Achieving any of the goals announced on the first day of the war: the return of prisoners by force and the elimination of Hamas. Israel also failed in the most dangerous project, which is "displacement", thanks to the legendary steadfastness of the residents of the Gaza Strip, and this failure was manifested in the scene of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians returning on foot to Gaza and the north, clinging to their land and the ruins of their homes on it.

This war is the longest and most violent in Israel's history, but it ends with a number of very important connotations, contents and results, the most prominent of which are the following:

First: The Palestinians recorded an unprecedented legendary steadfastness, which ultimately thwarted the Israeli goals and prevented their achievement, and Hamas continued to fight despite the assassination of all its leaders, which showed a cohesive organization that the world has never known before, and this necessarily means that any subsequent Israeli decision to go to war or launch military strikes will not be easy, meaning that Israeli calculations will have changed from the moment this war ends.

Second: This was clearly evident in the announcement of the "Coordination Committee" that will include mediators (Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey) in addition to both the United States and Hamas, as well as President Trump's speech from his plane, when a reporter asked him about the clashes between Hamas forces and armed groups in Gaza, where he said:  "We asked Hamas to impose security in Gaza," which means recognizing its presence and authority in the Strip.

Third: This war showed that the Arabs are not helpless, as they are meant to understand, imagine and be convinced, as the Palestinians were able to fight and stand for two years against Israel, which had previously defeated three Arab countries in six days combined, while the Arab countries (Qatar and Egypt) were able to play a very important role in mediation, in order to end the war, reject displacement and not pass the Israeli project.

Fourth: Although Israel stipulated that there should be no ceremonial or parade for the handover of its prisoners, as happened in the past, the scene, despite its modesty, confirms that the war on Gaza failed miserably, as Netanyahu was not able to recover a single Israeli by force or without a price, nor was he able to eliminate Hamas, whose members were deployed in the streets of the Gaza Strip on the first day of the ceasefire, and he could not push the Palestinians to emigrate abroad.

The conclusion is that this great war, which lasted for two whole years, has completely changed the Palestinian scene, and will change more of its details in the coming days, and the situation in the Gaza Strip has changed forever, especially in the field of fighting with the occupation, as Israel will not be easy for it to decide to go to war in the future, nor will the Palestinians in Gaza do so, and the international dealings with Hamas will change Gradually, or perhaps change rapidly, especially if you agree to the "Trump Plan" and its subsequent political path.
