Afrasianet - Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council, Maria Zabolotskaya, accused International Criminal Court Prosecutor Karim Khan of misleading the Council by submitting reports "containing false information."
Zabolotskaya noted that Khan has been under investigation for six months for alleged unethical behavior.
During a formal session, she said, "Khan lectures countries on the principle of impunity, while he himself evades accountability."
She confirmed that the ongoing investigations include accusations of sexual harassment and assault against female employees working with him in several countries while performing his official duties.
Russia's Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Security Council indicated that this behavior constitutes a blatant violation of professional ethics and indecent behavior unbecoming of a person holding the position of Prosecutor.
She added, "Khan has no right to appear before the Security Council or make official interventions in light of these accusations."
