Afrasianet - The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that a group of elements of the Ukrainian Armed Forces surrendered to the Russian army in the Kursk region. 


The Russian defense released a video showing that the surrendered group included more than a dozen Ukrainian soldiers.


"Military personnel from the Ukrainian forces besieged in Kursk, who suffer significant losses in lives and equipment, continue to surrender to Russian units," the Russian defense said, adding that "surrender in Russian captivity includes various categories of participants in the Kursk adventure, from professional officers to ordinary soldiers."


The Russian defense stressed that on humanitarian grounds, the soldiers of the "North" group of forces guarantee Ukrainian soldiers who lay down their arms and surrender life and dignified treatment in accordance with Russian laws and the norms of international law.

According to Russian security sources, the Marines of the "North" group managed to capture more than 10 soldiers of the Ukrainian forces in the Sudja region of the Kursk region, located in southwestern Russia.


The sources confirmed that Ukrainian soldiers surrendered to Russian forces during clashes in the region.


In this regard, the assistant commander of the Russian army's reconnaissance unit, known as "Zenit", said that 4 paratroopers from the Air Attack Brigade of the 83rd Separate Guard of the "North" group captured 10 Ukrainian soldiers during an attack on the forest belt in the Kursk border region, where the agency's correspondent followed the work of the reconnaissance units live with video technology.


"The mission was carried out by transporting a group of 4 people to one of the forest belts for reconnaissance and search operations. During the execution of the operation, several enemy positions equipped with equipment and weapons were discovered, where about 10 people of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were captured."


He also added that when the reconnaissance elements were extracting the prisoners, they were attacked by a Ukrainian "Baba Yaga" march, saying: "The march began to drop bombs, but 2 reconnaissance officers dealt well with the situation, and they stretched a heat-insulating blanket and hid a Ukrainian prisoner under it."


In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces fired on the group with a mortar, causing the death of two Ukrainian soldiers.


Russian forces in the Kursk province continue to push Kiev's forces back as combat operations continue on the front.

The Russian Defense Ministry announced the elimination of 150 Ukrainian military personnel in the Kursk province within 24 hours, and the losses of Kiev forces there reached 64,845 personnel, hundreds of tanks, armored vehicles and Western weapons.


 "North" forces continue to eliminate the remnants of the Ukrainian army in the villages and towns of Goncharovka, Goevo, Kazachea Luknia, Korelovka, Lebedevka, Malaya Luknia, Makhnovka, Staraya Sorochina, Sudja, Cherkaskoy Burychenoy extreme border villages.


•    Russian forces struck Ukrainian army concentrations in the cities and towns of Agronom, Bondarivka, Viktorovka, Gornal, Goevo, Zamosti, Zaolichenka, Kazachea Luknia, Knyagi 1, Kolmkov, Kositsa, Korelovka, Lebedevka, Luknya, Malaya Luknia, Makhnovka, Milovy, Mirniyeh, Nikolaivka, Oleshnya, Sudja, Cherkaskaya Konobilka, Cherkaskoy Porechenoy, Yuzhny, Basovka, Plovodé, Zhuravka, Meropoli, Novinkoye and Unakovka in Sumy province bordering the Kursk region of northeastern Ukraine.


•    The losses of Kiev forces in 24 hours amounted to 150 soldiers, a tank, 12 armored vehicles, 15 vehicles and cannons, a drone launch center and an ammunition depot.


•    Two Ukrainian soldiers captured.


•    The enemy's losses since the start of its offensive on Kursk on August 6 have reached 64,845 personnel, 383 tanks, hundreds of armored vehicles, cannons, rocket launchers, air defense systems, 130 electronic warfare stations, dozens of radar stations and other weapons and equipment.
