Afrasianet - The eccentric billionaire likely has gained access to all your personal information and can control your vital government payments. Rex Hopke – USA Today
If you rely on Social Security or Medicare, it's time to panic. And if you're interested in your personal data – such as your social security number or bank information – it's also time to panic.
Thanks to President Donald Trump and the permissive Republican Party, it's possible that the bizarre billionaire Elon Musk and his gang of random tech experts have gained access to your most private information and put their tainted hands on the tap from which vital government payments flow.
I guess you didn't vote to give Musk the freedom to control computer systems throughout the federal government, which are usually handled by highly trained people who have passed thorough background checks. Unfortunately, having such people in power becomes laws and norms for losers only.
Musk, under the guise of what is essentially an artificial government agency called the Government Efficiency Department, has hired people we know nothing about to do things we know nothing about without any authorization or oversight from Congress.
The Washington Post's Colbert King described Musk and his associates' hijacking of federal systems as follows: "Musk and his agents are gaining access to vast amounts of privileged and restricted government information on an unprecedented scale in our nation's capital. The Treasury Department, where I once worked, granted the Department of Energy a license to audit federal payment systems that annually disburse trillions of dollars in government expenditure.
The systems also contain a treasure trove of sensitive information about hundreds of millions of Americans: information that private business interests and foreign governments will pay a heavy price for ."
Max Richman, chairman of the National Commission for the Maintenance of Social Security and Medicaid, wrote: "Social Security beneficiaries and their families have every reason to worry about Elon Musk's takeover of the U.S. Treasury Department's payment system, which is responsible for paying Social Security benefits.
The unelected billionaire, who has no legal role in the U.S. government but heads Trump's unofficial government efficiency department, and his new followers at the Treasury Department now have access to the personal information of each Social Security beneficiary and the ability to withhold payments to any federal programs they don't like," Richman said.
In conclusion, there is one phrase that describes what the country's de facto president, Elon Musk, is doing: what he is doing is very bad.
