Afrasianet - The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor said that the United States is an accomplice in the crime committed by the Israeli army at dawn against displaced people in tents in the Al-Mawasi area in Khan Yunis governorate, south of Gaza Strip, because it was carried out with its destructive weapons.
The Observatory said in a statement on its website that its preliminary investigations showed that Israeli warplanes dropped 3 US-made MK 84 bombs after midnight on Tuesday, September 10, on a gathering of IDP tents in the Mawasi area of Khan Yunis, while they were sleeping, creating 3 pits with a depth and a diameter of several meters, causing the burial of about 20 tents in the families inside.
He stressed that Washington is an accomplice in this crime, as it supplies the Israeli army with destructive weapons and bombs, despite knowing that they were used to kill hundreds of civilians.
The Observatory noted that the targeted area is sand dunes, so many tents, including entire families, were buried under the sand.
The horrific massacre of displaced people in worn tents in an area declared humanitarian is further proof that the international silence on the 11-month-old genocide against Palestinians is emboldening Israel to commit more such crimes.
The Observatory stressed that the use of this type of US bomb, which has a destructive effect in an area full of tents and displaced people, is an indication of the intention of the Israeli army to kill the largest number of civilians, knowing that the shelling was not preceded by any evacuation warnings.
The Observatory stressed that even if allegations of the presence of members of armed factions are true, the use and dropping of several bombs with great destructive capacity in one of the most densely populated areas of displaced civilians in the Strip, and the perpetration of a massacre against civilians while they sleep, cannot be justified.
Justification of crimes
On Tuesday morning, the Israel Broadcasting Corporation reported, citing an army statement claiming that air force planes had attacked Hamas operatives who were working in a disguised command and control compound in the humanitarian area of Khan Yunis.
Despite the high number of casualties, the IDF claimed to have "taken numerous steps to minimize the likelihood of harm to civilians, including the use of precision weapons, aerial surveillance and additional intelligence." For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) confirmed that the claims of the occupation army of the presence of members of the resistance at the place of targeting are a blatant lie, through which it seeks to justify these heinous crimes.
Euro-Med Monitor stressed that ignoring these unprecedented massacres in the history of wars against civilians is a green light for Israel to continue committing them within a clear approach to mass killing and eliminating Palestinians.
He also called for holding accountable countries that are complicit and accomplices with Israel in committing crimes, the most important of which is the United States of America, which provides it with all forms of assistance related to the commission of these crimes.
Khiam massacre
At dawn on Tuesday, the Gaza Civil Defense announced the death of 40 Palestinians and the injury of 60 in the massacre, adding that there are more than 200 tents in the targeted area, and more than 20 to 40 tents were completely damaged by the shelling.
Israeli warplanes reportedly used heavy concussion missiles, leaving three deep craters and causing entire families to disappear under the sand.
The Israeli military has repeatedly targeted tents and shelters housing thousands of displaced people, killing and injuring dozens.
Last July, the Israeli army committed a massacre in the same area, killing 90 Palestinians and injuring 300, in a series of raids targeting tents and places of Palestinian displacement.
With the unequivocal support of the United States, Israel has been waging, since October 7, a devastating war on Gaza, which has left about 136,000 Palestinian martyrs and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing, amid massive destruction and deadly famine.
