TRIPOLI – Libya’s Movement to Peace, a non-governmental organization, released a statement on Saturday addressed to Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, in which they condemned “in the strongest terms” his country’s “aggressive interference” in Libya, especially its support for designated terrorist organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood.
Libya’s Movement to Peace stated that Turkey’s interference in Libya’s affairs constitutes a violation of the international law and had caused major damages to the country, noting that such interference reminds Libyans of the Ottoman colonialist era.
The organization warned Erdoğan that his support for terrorist groups would have repercussions on his own country as these groups will turn against him one day.
The organization stressed that anyone who violated the law in Libya would “pay a heavy price” and that the Libyan National Army (LNA) will respond “at the right time”.
Libya’s Movement to Peace concluded by urging the Turkish President to changes his policy in Libya during what is left in his time in office in order to avoid “serious consequences”.
