Afrasianet - Thousands of people are expected to take to the streets of Paris on Saturday to protest against President Emmanuel Macron's planned changes to the country’s labor laws.

Organized by the left-wing political movement La France Insoumise (‘Untamed France’), activists are planning to hold a protest picnic and a march through the city center.

Some 2,000 police officers have been deployed to the capital to ensure public security, after May Day protests turned violent when masked anti-capitalists hijacked the march for workers’ rights – torching six cars and smashing shops, resulting in the arrest of more than 100 people.
