Afrasianet - Hassan Nafaa - Unless the Israeli entity is able to produce a ruling elite that accepts peaceful coexistence with the peoples of the region and respects the right of the Palestinian people to establish their own independent state, the region will not enjoy security in the coming decades.
The waves of the flood that struck the Zionist entity on 7/10/2023 are still rising and moving in various directions, and the storms that blew on the region in its wake are still roaring in a roar. When the intensity of the crashing waves breaks and the noise of the roaring storms subsides, the Middle East will emerge in a picture that is likely to be completely different from the ones we are used to before.
When news agencies reported that Hamas had invaded the border separating the Gaza Strip from the rest of the occupied Palestinian territories and launched an attack that killed nearly 1,200 Israeli soldiers and settlers and captured nearly 250 others, the world was stunned.
How can anyone imagine, even in the wildest of fantasies, that a small organization, which manages a limited geographical area and has been besieged by land, sea and air for nearly twenty years, can launch such a precision-planned attack on one of the world's strongest, best-armed and well-trained "armies", which means that it has succeeded in penetrating its fortifications and impregnable positions, despite the unparalleled reputation and status of its security services, and enabling them to control for a time an area of territory that exceeds the area of the Gaza Strip as a whole. It also clashed with all its military bases and security settlements, and with all the soldiers and settlers in them, and its success in capturing numbers almost equal to the numbers incurred by the entity in its wars against the regular armies.
Many expected the entity's reaction to be violent and vindictive, but what happened on the ground exceeded the most pessimistic expectations. The entity did not only wage a conventional war against Hamas, or even against all the Palestinian armed resistance factions, but decided to wage a genocidal war against the entire Palestinian people, aimed at destroying the entire Gaza Strip, emptying it of its inhabitants and turning it into an unviable place.
It is true that the guns have fallen silent on most fronts, but the war is still raging on the Palestinian front despite the passage of more than 21 months.
The current Israeli government, which is the most extreme, believes that the "flood war" has been decided militarily in its favor. On the Palestinian front, the Gaza Strip has been reduced to ashes and rendered unfit for life, and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, which is now virtually under the control of both Israeli forces and settlers, has been weakened, especially after many of its camps were stormed and its residents were forced to displace.
On the Lebanese front, Hezbollah emerged from the battlefield and decided to disengage from the Gaza Strip.
On the Iraqi front, the militias supporting the Palestinian resistance remained silent and decided to distance themselves from the battlefields.
On the Syrian front, the regime of Bashar al-Assad has fallen, and Syria has moved from the "axis of resistance" to the axis of the rush for normalization.
On the Iranian front, and most importantly, Iran has become less powerful, after the complete destruction of its nuclear program and the damage to its missile program. Its regional influence has weakened after the dismantling of the "Axis of Resistance."
Therefore, the current Netanyahu government believes that all that remains is to reap the political gains and impose its conditions for a settlement on everyone, which it believes will be achieved sooner or later by:
1- Disarming Hamas and the rest of the Palestinian armed resistance factions, and deporting their leaders out of the Gaza Strip in preparation for its reoccupation and settlement.
2. Annex all Jewish settlements, along with the largest possible area of the West Bank, in order to permanently block the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
3- Disarming Hezbollah in preparation for forcing the Lebanese government to sign a peace treaty that takes into account Israel's security requirements.
4- Never giving up the Golan Heights, even if this leads to not concluding a peace treaty with Syria, and working to keep the latter weak and limited in armaments in all cases, while the entity reserves the right to intervene to protect minorities, especially the Druze and Kurds. 5- Coordinating with the US government to expand the scope of the Abraham Accords to include other Arab countries, especially Saudi Arabia.
But the facts on the ground are one thing, and the illusions that are nesting in the head of the current Netanyahu government are another. Especially since the "deluge war" has not yet been decided, even on the military level. On the Palestinian front, the armed resistance factions are still fighting, inflicting daily casualties on the Israeli army and holding many hostages, the Palestinian people are still steadfast and clinging to their land despite attempts at genocide and starvation, and the Lebanese Hezbollah is still cohesive and capable of holding out and confronting, and therefore it will be impossible to disarm it except within the framework of a comprehensive settlement that restores to Lebanon its full sovereignty over the occupied territory and the Lebanese state its ability to defend itself It is painful for the entity and is determined to continue until the war on the Gaza Strip is stopped. On the political level, it is clear that the Netanyahu government has not yet grasped the facts revealed by this round, which can be summarized and presented as follows:
The first fact relates to the fall of the masks from the true face of the Zionist project. This tour confirmed, beyond any doubt, that this project depends on force alone to achieve its goals, without any concept of peaceful coexistence, neither with the Palestinians nor with the neighboring Arab countries.
There is no place in this project, even in principle, for an independent Palestinian state, no matter how small, and every Palestinian is offered no choice but to choose between death, death, starvation, or leaving the homeland.
The whole world has watched with astonishment, live, the scale and quality of the crimes committed against the Palestinians over the past 100 years, especially during the last 21 months, crimes no less heinous than the "Holocaust" committed by the Nazi regime in Germany against the Jews, before and during World War II.
As for the neighboring Arab countries, he does not value the security or the well-being of these countries. For him, despite the peace treaty with Egypt, Sinai is only an incubator capable of absorbing the population density that needs to be deported from the Gaza Strip.
For Jordan, despite the peace treaty that binds it to it, Jordan is nothing but an alternative homeland for the Palestinians, and therefore suitable for the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. If the Zionist mentality continues to think in this way, it is not unlikely that Israel will one day decide to return to occupy Sinai, if it has an opportunity to implement the settlement project, or to seize Jordan, if it has an opportunity to enable one of the Palestinian parties to declare the establishment of an alternative Palestinian state there.
The second fact relates to the proof of the Palestinian people's competence and their determination to uphold all their inalienable rights and their ability to defend these rights even if they are left alone.
This tour confirmed, beyond any doubt, that a people whose struggle has not ceased for a whole century, and that one of its armed factions succeeded in planning and executing an epic of the size of the "Al-Aqsa Flood", and then collectively managed to withstand a legendary resistance in the face of the Israeli war machine for almost two full years, and its men, women and children succeeded in making the miracle of holding on to the land, despite the war of extermination and starvation, capable of preserving and defending its rights, even if it was left on the battlefield or The struggle is alone, and therefore no one will be able to bring it to its knees no matter how long it takes.
The third fact relates to the realization of the danger of the Zionist project by all the peoples of the region and the impossibility of accepting its conditions for a settlement. This tour also confirmed, beyond any doubt, that this project does not seek peaceful coexistence with the peoples of the region, but rather seeks to dominate them and rob them of their capabilities, and therefore will not accept the existence of any other powerful state in the region, regardless of the nature of its ruling regime or its political and intellectual theses, and that its means of achieving domination over these peoples is to sow discord and stir up sectarian strife and strife Tribal among them, in the hope of transforming all the countries of the region into small entities that are established on ethnic, religious, sectarian or tribal bases.
What is happening in Syria now is the best proof of this fact. It is true that the peoples of this region have not taken enough action, either to support the Palestinian people or to protest against the horrific massacres committed by the Zionist entity, but this does not mean in any way that these peoples, who are overwhelmed and unable to freely express their opinions and feelings, will accept the continuation of the game of normalization with the entity after the cessation of hostilities.
The ball is now in the hands of the entity, and unless this entity is able to produce a new ruling elite that accepts peaceful coexistence with the peoples of the region and respects the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and the establishment of their independent state, the region will not know security and stability in the coming decades, even if a permanent or temporary ceasefire is reached in the near future.
