Homelands for sale and prisons for rent

Afrasianet - Emad Al , Hataba - The proportion of immigrants to the "paradise of the capitalist West" for economic reasons is declining sharply, while the proportion of migrants fleeing Western-run wars in their countries has increased.

In an announcement that caused a lot of legal and humanitarian noise, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his support for the idea of renting "places" in the prisons of other countries to confront the phenomenon of overcrowding of rehabilitation centers in his country, and stressed that "there are no prohibitions in this file."

France was not the first European country to go in this direction, as it was preceded by a failed attempt by Italy, and two successful attempts by Denmark, which will start transferring a number of prisoners to detention centers in Kosovo starting in 2027 in exchange for $ 228 million that Kosovo receives over ten years, as well as Sweden, which passed a similar law without announcing the countries from which it will receive prisoners coming from.

There is no real distinction between immigrants who hold the nationality of the countries that imprison them and illegal immigrants who are accused of being responsible for all the crises of the capitalist system, from demographic nightmare to unemployment, high poverty rates, social unrest, and even rising crime rates. Most of the accused migrants (whether legal or illegal) have been victims of economic and political crises in their countries of origin.

These crises were never far from the plans and projects of capitalist countries, starting with colonialism, through supporting reactionary tyrannical regimes and fighting national liberation movements, to plundering wealth, and finally the direct or proxy wars that they launched in most Third World countries to expand their hegemony and solve the crisis that almost killed them after the financial collapse in 2008.

The media outcry launched by Western countries about immigration is related to the so-called refugee crisis, which accompanied the arrival of the European right to power in more than one Western country.

The truth is that the proportion of immigrants to the "paradise of the capitalist West" for economic reasons is declining sharply, while the proportion of migrants fleeing Western-run wars in their countries has increased.

A country like Syria, from which immigrants before 2010 constituted less than 1% of the proportion of migrants to Europe, moved in 2015 to lead the proportion of immigrants and become 47%, in second place came Afghan immigrants with 21%, then Iraq in third place with 9.4%. What unites the three countries is the war waged by the West to bring democracy, prosperity and stability.

According to data from the International Organization for Migration, France, which is the fifth in the world in the number of migrants and has one of the loudest voices in talking about the threat of migration between 2020 and 2024, received a total of 600,000 migrants, while Saudi Arabia, which ranked third in the world, during the same period, received 3.7 million migrants.

Despite the clear European violation of the provisions of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, which was approved by the United Nations General Assembly in 2018, with decisions and projects to transfer prisoners, especially those without citizenship, the voices of liberal human rights organizations are only raised to condemn what affects migrants in third world countries, especially the Gulf countries.

The aim of the writing was not to look for more evidence to prove that human and legal rights in capitalist countries are confined to the white man, as we are experts in the brutality of the capitalist system that pours the hell of its planes, rockets and artillery shells on our people in Gaza, Yemen and Lebanon, and before that on Syria and Iraq. However, when it comes to immigration and displacement, Western projects must be prepared to displace Palestinians, whether from the Gaza Strip or from the West Bank.

What fate awaits these displaced people in the countries of asylum? Ghettos await them in tents or caravans that do not meet the basic conditions of life, and they quickly turn into cheap labor that generates millions on the coffers of capitalist companies.

Europe, which does not stop complaining about the problem of migrants, opens its doors to a soft migration of Gazans, under humanitarian slogans such as family reunification, while the United States talks about the acquisition of the Gaza Strip for its investment projects, and the displacement of Palestinians to Jordan, Egypt, Iraq or Libya. What is required of the Palestinian is to sell his homeland and move to countries that can put him in prisons rented from countries and international organizations, whether these prisons are with doors and rails, or tents besieging them. Barbed wire.

When the master of the nation's martyrs said that the price of resistance, no matter how high, remains less than the price of surrender, he saw what it meant for those who surrendered to the colonial schemes of the West, leaving their homelands to find prisons waiting for them. The price that Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are paying today for their steadfastness will be a small price for the hell that awaits them outside their homeland.
