Afrasianet - Author: Salam Al-Wassouf  - This book is a political and strategic reading and highlights the way the United States recruited "political Islam" in the name of "jihad."

Why did James Baker, the U.S. Secretary of State, say in 1991, "We should only fight fundamentalists if our interests so require?" Yes or no, is the United States playing with fire? After  the "strategy of chaos," Grégoire Laleo continued his interviews with Mohamed Hassan to decipher the game in Syria, the problems of the Egyptian Spring, and the concept of absolute terror that we call "Islamic." This book explains what is expected in this region.

"Terrorism is an American Industry" provides a complete, compelling, urgent and fluid explanation of current events in Syria that are hidden from us, or allegedly very complex.

The author tells what happened in the Syrian arena by demanding peaceful change, but these peaceful demonstrations were soon colored by the violence, weapons and blood used by the terrorists of the world.

The first phase is related to playing the sectarian card, as the instigators of this war thought it might be easy to show that the majority of Syrians are against their authority. They wished to demobilize the army, but this was unsuccessful. The second phase entered the event of recruiting anyone, whatever their identity, to fight in Syria. The money allowed the Gulf authorities to recruit thousands to sow chaos, these terrorists committed different types of The horror, which drove the people to unite behind their government. The third stage was the defeat of these terrorists in the military field. After absorbing a wave of fierce and significant attacks, the Syrian army has once again gained the battlefield throughout the country. The idea was to impose a military intervention similar to what happened in Libya.

The Russian and Chinese positions were clear to Washington. In the fourth stage, Washington was unique in spoiling and disturbing things as it pleased, during the eight-year Iran-Iraq war, so that the US secretary of state stated, "It is better to let them fight." The situation that Washington desired did not achieve the interests of the Saudis, the Turks, or the Qataris, as these three regimes wanted to overthrow the Syrian government, at all costs, so they launched dangerous forces in Syria, some of which spiraled out of control. President Bashar al-Assad has withstood and eliminated the insurgency, so what will these jihadists do? The Gulf authorities fear that flames will be set in our bodies.

At first glance, the author explains how the caliphate was created: The Islamic State did not emerge from all sides, but is the fruit of the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, when the Iraqi resistance, which included most of its old members from Saddam Hussein's Baath Party, confronted American forces. Two important events reversed the nature of the conflict: First, Washington replaced Saddam Hussein, and Saudi Arabia, which firmly opposed Tehran's influence in the region, favored the intervention of fanatics. The second is the de-Baathification of the Baathist Party. The operation is linked to the disclosure of the infrastructure of Saddam's former regime, including the Iraqi army. Sunnis supported the secular system. These two elements turned the war of resistance to the American occupation into a sectarian conflict opposed by Sunnis and Shiites.

When Gregoire Laleo was asked: How do you see the future in Syria?

"I'm not an astrologer," he said, but starting from the moment when realistic attempts to find a political way out of the conflict have stalled, we see that it is the military situation that will dominate the country's future. The Syrian army is in a state of strength compared to the rebels.

Speaking about the five contradictory currents (traditionalists, reactionaries, Muslim Brotherhood, nationalists or nationalist Islamists, and jihadists), he said that traditionalists emerged at the end of the nineteenth century and the beginning of the twentieth century, and they did not have any main goal to establish an Islamic state, and the news and subtleties that resulted from colonialism, gave some traditionalists many privileges to fight colonial powers, and they succeeded in resorting to Islam to achieve their goals.

Finally, after reading this interesting and detailed book of what happened in my country, Syria, I felt a sense of appreciation for the author Grégoire Lalio, who was able to read and illustrate the outline, at a time when many understood what was happening as an internal conflict between communities. When I summed it up, my language did not help me clarify what was described, so I tried to extract paragraphs that would help me express in easy and meaningful sentences. The translation was beautiful and vivid and was presented by Mr. Shadi Samie Hammoud, who holds a master's degree in translation from Damascus University. Finally, the translator concludes his speech that encapsulates the book by saying: This book is a political and strategic reading and sheds light on the way in which the United States of America recruited "political Islam" under the name of jihad "within the framework of its project "The New Middle East" with international terrorist tools, exposing disinformation against Syria.
