Zelinsky's recent tours... an absurd reproduction of Bush Jr.'s strategy before the occupation of Iraq

Afrasianet - Wissam Ismail - The real framework of Zelensky's tours can be found through the Netherlands and his speech at the International Court of Justice, which was titled "There is no peace without justice for Ukraine."

Despite the recent statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Minister about the connection of Volodymyr Zelensky's foreign tour with collecting the weapons necessary for the massive Ukrainian counterattack that Ukraine has not stopped marketing for in the media, despite the absence of any practical indications of its possibility, the reality of the shuttle reviews that he is keen on indicates a strategy aimed at At the very least, demonizing Russia and presenting evidence of its aggression, which necessitates, according to Zelensky, the need to isolate and boycott it on the one hand, and to make supporting Ukraine financially and militarily a moral duty linked to the maintenance of international peace and security on the other hand.

More than a year after the launch of the Russian military operation, whose primary objective centered on protecting the Donbass, which can be described as the deadliest in the modern era, given the destruction it led to of the Ukrainian military and vital infrastructure, in addition to the Ukrainian human losses that exceeded in the first year of the war.

One hundred thousand dead, according to Western media, with what this recognition means of the inevitability of estimating the number of dead Ukrainian soldiers by much more than that, as the West is keen not to show the true size of the losses, taking into account the morale of the Ukrainian people and the Western public opinion, which is restless with the effects of Western support for Ukraine on its reality.

Al-Moishi, it can be said that any counter-military Ukrainian action will not achieve the result desired by Zelensky.

Therefore, the results that he might achieve from his foreign tour can be limited to the framework of typical Western behavior that always seeks to perpetuate a bad stereotype of the target party.

And if we start from his visit to Finland and his participation in the summit of the five Nordic countries and his focus on Finland’s recent accession to NATO and the need for Ukraine to obtain this membership, as the most important security guarantee that can be obtained, then what Zelensky achieved from this visit did not go beyond the importance of the memorial photo alongside the leaders of these countries.

The military aid for which he was promised will not exceed a quarter of what he previously provided. As for his path, which included Britain, France, Germany and Italy, the military assistance he obtained was not at the level he expected, despite its importance.

And if it is possible to analyze the backgrounds of this continuous support, then this is related to showing the Western commitment to stand by it without affecting the rules of the balance of power, which assumes no exposure to Russian lands. Accordingly, the support that Ukraine received was not related to the visit to the extent that those countries express their commitment to the path they previously committed to.

Therefore, the true framework of Zelensky's tours through the Netherlands and his speech at the International Court of Justice, entitled "There is no peace without justice for Ukraine", can be identified.

And if we link this visit to his meeting with Pope Francis, and then his attendance at the League of Arab States summit in Jeddah before heading to Hiroshima to participate in the G-7 summit, then this would indicate a specific strategy behind which Zelensky aims to play the role of instigating Russia and showing a kind of international consensus on the dangers of operation in Ukraine.

The attempt to obtain in one round the support of the international criminal judiciary and the Christian supreme religious authority, in addition to the political support that was embodied in his speech at the Arab League summit and his talks with the seven leaders in Hiroshima, confirms his endeavor to turn the conflict in Ukraine, at least theoretically, into a global war between Two camps, ensuring that no settlement can take place that makes Ukraine the only loser.

Zelensky's movement is similar in its details to the American movement that was active before the occupation of Iraq in 2003, as the US administration at that stage spared no effort to mobilize global support and to show the overthrow of the regime in Iraq as an international moral duty.

During that period, the US administration sought to mislead the American and international public opinion, taking advantage of the collective shock factor caused by the events of September 11.

In addition, the US administration used the policy of incitement to instill fear in the hearts of the American people and global public opinion, which was originally governed by the American ideology that dominated after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

As for the international level, it practiced a policy of intimidation and enticement, as countries that did not adhere to the American project were intimidated and accused of protecting a regime that the United States had previously classified within the axis of evil.

In this context, former US President George W. Bush worked to demonstrate the American wars in Iraq and Afghanistan as a struggle between the forces of good and the forces of evil, and he did not hesitate to compare them to the Crusades, because of the symbolism of this analogy among Western peoples.

For his part, the Ukrainian president shows a clear commitment to the American method of mobilizing the world against a regime he considers terrorist.

It violates the rules of international law and threatens international peace and security, benefiting from the activity of the Western media system, which worked to show the Russian military operation as a barbaric act that does not take into account the lowest characteristics of humanity.

In analyzing his visit to the Pope of the Vatican, for example, and in view of the lack of any possibility of obtaining material or military support from him, it can be estimated that his goal does not go beyond the framework of adopting his cause, with what this adoption means of moral legitimacy that comes from the ambassador of peace on earth. And if we try to estimate the feasibility of his visit to Jeddah and his speech before the leaders of a group of countries that cannot be considered directly affected by the crisis in Ukraine, and it seems that they are all committed to distancing themselves, with the exception of Syria, due to its intertwined relations with Russia on the one hand, and the West on the other, then the most He can achieve nothing more than his success in presenting his case from the platform of the summit, while wondering how important this summit might be.

As for his participation in the Seven Summits, which concluded in Hiroshima on May 21, a question can be asked about the addition he made, as these countries are the ones running the battle against Russia.

And if we talk about the sanctions recently approved by the group, they are not linked to Zelensky's presence, but rather they can be endorsed within the framework of a series of sanctions targeting Russia and China as two countries that threaten the global order represented by these powers.

In addition, it remains to point out that the reality that helped the American diplomacy that was active before the occupation of Iraq, when the American supremacy and unipolarity was established at that stage as a result of the absence of any competitor, no longer exists today. American unilateralism has faltered since the United States withdrew from Iraq, and then from Afghanistan.

And if the stage before the occupation of Iraq was governed by two factors of fear and caution against any attempt to object to US policies, the current stage witnesses boldness that goes beyond mere objection, to the extent of declaring that it is working to overthrow unilateralism with all its tools.

Accordingly, it can be said that the strategy that Zelensky is adopting by actively working to demonize Russia and trying to recruit the world behind Ukraine will not provide him with what enables him to return to the stage before the Russian military operation that began on February 24, 2022, and that the maximum that can be achieved does not exceed The possibility of making the whole world concerned with its results.

The countries that show their support for Zelensky, led by the United States of America, have become aware of their capabilities and the inability to directly confront Russia.

And if we approach what it might realistically aim for, then this will not go beyond the limits of draining Russia and pushing it to a settlement that guarantees these countries not to taste the bitterness of declaring defeat.
