afrasianet -- Palestinian snipers on Wednesday opened fire at Israeli forces, injuring two, near the border of the central Gaza Strip. the Israeli army said.

An Israeli military spokesman said an officer and a soldier were transferred to hospital, adding that troops returned fire.

There were no immediate reports of any Palestinian injuries.
